Bible Study

It has been so much fun to reconnect with Kimby and Rita from bible study last year.  Last year we started out by reading John in The Message.  We read together and discussed it.  As the year went on, we went more and more in depth into the person of Jesus.  It was such a pleasure to spend time with them and discover with them how our bible study would apply to their lives. Well as many of you know, at the end of the year, Rita went with me to an eight day long training week with the Navigators called Quest.  During that time we learned how to study the bible using the inductive method, which is much more intense than our previous study.  The reason I am sharing all of this is because Rita loved it and gleaned so much from this kind of study!  So, this quarter, we are studying the book of Ephesians using the Inductive Method.  We had our bible study on Friday and the girls had so much to share.  We are meeting at the Cliff House for Bible study, which is a huge change from the crowded Starbucks we were crammed into last year.  I was amazed at the hearts of the girls during study, and how God has just been answering my prayers.  God has given us a wonderful space to do Bible study and he has given the girls hearts to know him more!  They are so excited to dive into the word and really share their discoveries, thoughts and questions.  At one point during the study, I just remember being dumbfounded and thinking, God are these the same girls that you brought into my life last year?  They were great then, they are great now, but it was just a sweet feeling to know that we have history together, we trust one another, and we are so excited to grow in Christ even more! I am so blessed!

Basically, I want to thank those who have been praying for the ministry here at the University of Washington.  We still need a lot of prayer, but it is so wonderful to have partners in the ministry here.  THANK YOU!  Also, I want to ask you to pray for our bible study as we are adding at least one new student.  Pray that we would mesh well together and that God would build unity and trust quickly.  Mostly, I ask that you pray that God is the center of our time; that He would continue to work in each of our hearts.

Homecoming!

Hi Again! I know it's been a little while since I have last posted on our blog, but fortunately I have had a very good reason for the delay. The last two weeks, in addition to connecting with students and staff, I have been preparing for Kevin to come home from his 7-month long deployment. On Sunday, October 12th, Kevin came home. It has been wonderful to have him home again and rediscover life together while doing the everyday things at home. I ask for your prayers and your continued support as we readjust to our life together in the coming weeks. I have included the above pictures to give you a little bit of an idea of our reunion. I have been so blessed with some good Navy friends along with some wonderful civilian friends that God has used immensely to encourage myself and Kevin during this time. Until next time...
